This weekend just past, saw RCG hold the first phase of it's annual Donate a Can project. This was the collecting of non-perishable foodstuffs from the shoppers at two of the many supermarkets in the  city. Over the period of the weekend 40 trolley loads were received and we anticipate that  the supermarkets will provide us with an additional 8.

The distribution of the food collected will start on Tuesday 22 November when we visit the Mochudi Resource Centre for the Blind and we will hand over some of the food that has been donated. Some other organizations that look after orphans, needy and disadvantage children will also be given some of the proceeds over the period of the next month or so.

The Donate a Can project was started by PP Raj Rallan in 2004 as a very low key project and has grown from strength to strength ever since. Raj has since moved to Namibia but his brainchild is till well and going strong.

We thank the patrons of Pick 'n Pay, Riverwalk and Spar, Riverwalk for their kind donations. We also thank the two establishments for providing us with their support.
