Rotarian Natalie McCormack Antzon (Chairperson of Young Generations) brought 4 teenagers who had been members of a recent short youth exchange to talk to the club about their experiences. Boase Roberts, Laura Sekwebabe and Matthew van Zyl all went to Brazil while Lisa Sekwebabe went to Chile
All of them said that they had been well looked after and had a great time. The one challenge they had was the language barrier with most of the host families not speaking English. They all overcame this obstacle and returned home having gained new friends and extended their family. It illustrated the benefits of the Rotary Youth Exchange programme.
It should be noted that all four of these exchange students are also members of the Interact Club (another part of the Rotary New Generations programme) at Maru-a-Pula School.
